WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT
To go away with at least one affirming word that describes who you are and how others see you. To build confidence in who you are.
If you haven't already, make sure that you talk /think about creating a safe space so that you and others you are doing this with know what to expect and feel safe to share and take part. (See 'Create a safe space in the introduction section of 'Flourish')
OPENING THOUGHTS
WHAT DO YOU SEE
LOVED
TREASURED
VALUED
KNOWN
UNDERSTOOD
SEEN
ADORED
CHERISHED
RESPECTED
Hold your phone up to the mirror and read the first word.
YOUR DAILY DOSE
“Everyone fails at who they are supposed to be; the measure of a person is how well they succeed at being who they are.”
Or as I like to put it…"You can never fail at being yourself".
EXTRA ACTIVITY
Ask some people you trust to write down what they love about you; you could do the activity for groups together, so you are using your words to encourage them too.
Don't be afraid to ask; people who love you will love to tell you why, but don't rush them; they might like to think about it, so they find just the right words for you to hear.
JUST BEFORE YOU GO
Whilst taking part in this today, if you have found anything too overwhelming, please find an adult you trust to talk it through with; you are never on your own, even if it feels like you are.
All you need to do is stretch out a hand to someone who sees you.
